After much speculation here on A.net, Embraer has finally unveiled its first ever E170 business jet. I wonder if it has been given a name - Legacy 700 perhaps?

What remains is for a Head of State variant to materialize.

Wow, nice!

Lineage 700?

I don't think its an official offering just yet, though. But of course they wouldn't turn down a new customer.

Cheers

I think it's a bit misleading as they say it will hold 76 pax with no mention of extra range.

It looks very slick. I still can not believe how well Embraer are doing! It's odd that Bombardier seem to be taking all of this lying down. What would be amazing if Embraer and Bombardier partnered up to start producing widebodies to throw in the mix. I live and hope...

Maybe it's just a normal E170 with 76 seats. That's what it sounds like even from EMB's press release.

"Corporate Shuttle" being just a fancy name describing its role at Sirte oil.

MY GOD! This must be the best day this year for aviation!!!  Smile

I threw this render together last night actually, just pure coincidence that this announcement was made today:

This could serve as a test for Embraer as well. I think this is similar to the Corporate Shuttle versions of the ERJ-135. If it works out, they most likely will come out with a "Lineage 700". Hopefully we will see an E-170 with increased range, possibly an E-190 wing and with all the luxuries of a Gulfstream.

I am not sure this E170 is anything but a "regular" commercial E170. It is been purchased by a corporate entity so it would qualify as a corporate buy, but my bet is notwithstanding my total lack of knowledge on the Lybian air transportation industry this particular aircraft will be used for non scheduled service connecting a large oil facility and the purchaser's HQ at Tripoli.

This is not unlike some non-BBJ 737's - or F-100's btw - acquired by Fortune 500's corporations for transportaing employees throughout the US or abroad.

You may want to slow down a little. It is NOT a business jet, but a corporate shuttle. Exact same interior as the regular E170... NOTHING different. They just sold an E170 to a private customer..... nothing special.

However, it could eventually lead to Embraer developing a biz-jet version of the E170. If more companies begin purchasing the E170 as a "corporate shuttle" it will show Embraer that the interest is there.
I think the Lineage 1000 is just too large for some companies. A Lineage 700 would be a bit smaller and comparable to a Gulfstream and other large biz-jets.

It is the first Embraer aircraft in Lybian soil.

Correct.
