You're right, it does look better than the Mad Dog they painted in it. There are some liveries that seem to suit some a/c types better than others. I guess with the new location of the green stripe needs a wider canvas so to speak for it to look right.

I still don't like the new colours. The old ones are much better, especially with the cheatline on the windows and not below them.

I'm with LTU932. It seems that whoever did this makeover of the livery just took an old idea and applied it to the revised Alitalia logo. The old livery was classic and elegant. This looks cheap...and old. I've seen this livery option since 1999.
This is not a new idea...just someone with nothing to do in a position to change something that has no business being changed.

the one thing i hate is the tail tho - i wish they had left the white outline on the trailing edge/rudder similar to hwo it used to be.

What is the point for a bankrupt airline to repaint ac in nearly the same livery???
Surely the money could have been used for something else.

If an aircraft goes into maintanence for a D-Check i believe, it will need a new layer of paint anyway. But I got your point for saying that this change is useless.

Alitalia had a timeless, beautiful livery that could have stood the test of time for as long as the airline could potentially stay alive.

This piece of crap that they've plonked on seems to have been done by a bargain basement designer with Eurotrash credentials. A country like Italy that is so synonymous with style and good taste could have done so much better than this nonsense.

again i dispise the tail not being outlined in white on the trailing edge.

Considering AZ financial situation, was it really the good time to spend more money they don't have in a new colorscheme ?

Yeah, the first photos wasn't that fair, angle and light wasn't that good, I'm sure with the time the majority will like this livery (if only AZ becomes a profitable airline...), you need the right angle may be but it sure is a beauty.

This photo of A.net is really nice IMHO.

AZ may have many problems, but their classic, elegant, familair livery - recognized worldwide - is not one of them. It's one of the few things about AZ that doesn't need to be fixed.

The real test will be on the 763s and 772s... thats what im waiting to see.

Not only the "new" livery does not tell me much (if we can call it "new" at all), but mainly, who had the unjustifiable idea of spending badly money in superfluous face-lift that could have waited until the new Management Team of AZ will be ready?

Clearly and sadly, somebody there has trouble defining priorities...
