It says front tire, but both are shown on gear. What gear had the tire problem? Another media screw-up?

Look at the picture closely...Clearly mtx changed a nose tire.

It says a ramp worker noticed the missing tire as the plane was near Terminal D, and the pax were bussed to the terminal. Why not let the plane continue to the gate? Is it because pushing it back was a risk they didn't want to take? Couldn't they have installed a new tire at the gate so they wouldn't have to worry about pushback?

I find it odd that it didn't contiune to the gate since it was already on the Term D ramp. Once at the gate there is tons of room to change the tire, more room than Term A or C.
