There were severe t-storm warnings and tornado watches in counties west of Chicago and there was a violent t-storm that DID occur last evening.

MKE will usually always get some diversions from ORD. I don't have a list or anything telling which diversions, but I'd be interested to know if there were any diversions to MKE.

Did MKE get any of the storms last night? I live in northern Kane County, near I90 and Randall Rd, and this storm was coming from the norhtwest (Rockford area), but I am not sure how wide this storm was. After work I stopped to pick up some groceries and when I went back outside to my car, the sky was pitch black with some nasty looking clouds and some very nasty wind. It was not pretty around here for about 30 minutes or so.

Yes MKE got hit pretty much the exact same time ORD did so I don't believe we got any diversions. I looked at flightaware around 8pm before going out and there wasn't much going on up here and also around chicago. It wasn't like these storms came out of nowhere so I imagine ORD had plenty of time to plan for them as far as ground holds and delaying aircraft in other cities. It is when pop-up storms develop near or on ORD that cause the most diversions because it catches most of the already inbound flights off guard and forces more airtaffic to enter holding patterns.

Today they're expecting some more severe storms in the area so probably another day of headaches and frustration for ORD passengers.
