Everybody knows about John Travolta being a enthusiastic pilot who owns a B707 and others. But what about the rich and famous around the world, what kind of an airplane do they own? And, do you know if they flight themselves?

I came up with a short list. Help me out with this one to get it larger.

•President of the USA ... B747-200
•President of Mexico... B757-200, B737, Learjet
•Emperor of Japan... B747
•Sultan of Brunei... A340
•Donald Trump... B727
•Carlos Slim... Gulfstream V, Dassault Falcon 900
•Queen of England... BAe 146
•Michael Dell... B757
•John Travolta... B707, Grumman 1159
•Bill Gates... Bombardier 700
•Michael Jordan... Beech 300
•Steve Jobs... Gulfstream - G-V
•Brad Pit... Cessna 210
•Opra Winfrey... Bombardier 700
•Olegario Vázquez Raña... Bombardier 700
•Harrison Ford... Cessna 525B

I appreciate your info.

This is discussed many times. You may distinguish state owned (presidential) aircraft from private owned ones.

IIRC, Tom Cruise owns and flies a P-51 Mustang.

And on a side note, the heads of state you listed don't own those aircraft, except maybe the Sultan of Brunei. Their respective nations own them and whoever happens to be the head of state at any given time has use of them.

For a listing of the aircraft you can always go to the FAA web site and check the "N" numbers at

http://registry.faa.gov/aircraftinquiry/NNum_inquiry.asp

We use a paid for subscription service that updates daily the contact information for every private aircraft in the world and that is an impressive list. However, it is important to note, that private jets are also owned by many people and companies that earned the aircraft through hard work and dedication. It is extremely expensive to operate these aircraft let alone the publicity some want and some do not with these types of planes.

Cheers,
BP1

Jimmy Buffett also has a Caravan on floats. I believe the tail number is N208JB. Don't quote me on that though. I think he either sold or parked the Albatross.

Jack Roush also has 4 727's based at CLT. Three -100s, and a -200. At least one of the -100's is a parts bird, and another may have become the same recently. I haven't seen it move in quite a while.

Rusty Wallace has a Lear 31, Mark Martin has a Citation.

Jim Head (NHRA nitro funny car) has a Cessna 441, as well as a Pitts or something along those lines. He also does airshow flying from what I understand. Don Prudhomme has or had a Lear 25. Connie Kalitta flies to the races in a Falcon 20.

503MG is the one I haven't seen move in a while. It's parked at the CLT cargo facility now. I don't have any idea what the plans are for that airplane.

The -200 they're flying now is N727NK. It sat around CLT for quite a while missing a flap, but is now flying with a Roush sticker on the tail.
