I had last heard that TAAG Angola had cut back its operations considerably after one of their (perhaps their only) 747 was grounded at Lisbon.

Their website http://www.taag-airlines.com hasn't been updated since Summer 2000, and says that they still operate 707s and IL-62Ms.

I remember seeing one of their 747s at Rio in September.

Does anybody have current info.?

Do you know for sure they stopped 62M OPS?
Thanks, Tom

No. Last I had heard the IL-62M was being used on their service to Harare (12/99), but I'm not sure that its been taken out of service completely.

I don't know if they've stopped service, but I'm pretty sure I spotted their 747 flying above me (Johannesburg)about 3/4 days ago. It could have been an Iberian 742, but it was at least a few fundred metres above me, so I can't be absolutely sure. I think it was their plane as it had more red on it than IB aircraft have.

hi
I've seen their 743-300 at CDG (last month I think) and I was wondering if it was carrying passengers or if it was here to go thru maintenance at AF...I cannot find info on them,I never see them on the flight listings...
