Send us news from Iran as much as possible.
Aviation is changing every day there with their short leasing. Maybe one of the last country in the world with a real interesting aviation ("old" westen with 707, 727, 747-100/200/SP, F-28..... and soviet).
Should be nice to have IrAn-140 back in the sky with airlines (I remember, while visiting Kish Island 3 years ago, I saw a IrAn-140 model in full Kish Air colors in a travel agent office. I tried to buy it but the answer was...... NO!).
They had orders for some Iranian airlines but after the problems with Safiran...... They stopped flying. |

I saw only this IrAn-140 during about 2 years ago! 1 month before,my friend who is working at the airport told me about a IrAn-140 that her tail number was HESA 90-03 So I think only this one is active now.But I heard about 8 new IrAn-140 that Iran Air Tours want to buy....I'm not sure.

Quoting Shahram16216 (Thread starter): Conviasa makes flights from Caracas(CCS) to Tehran(THR) via Damascus(DAM) with A340-200 (YV1004) |
On JP.net I found pictures of YV1004 in the Iberia maintenance hangar in MAD. I'm not sure for how long this plane will be there or if she is back in service.

Have you got any news on more F100s joining either IR or EP in the near future? F100 seems to one of the best aircraft for the Iranian domestic sectors (average flight time 60-90 minutes). I flew on a F100 to Gorgan (GBT) last year, It was very nice. |

Topic: RE: New Customer For IRAN-140 Username: B727fan Posted 2007-11-21 16:06:16 and read 1400 times. Is Iran planing to invest some renovation money in their airports? They have major multi million cities, but the airports seem to be really outdated. Although IKA seems to be in par with modern day structures with gates, all other cities seem to be lagging behind. As an architect and a civil aviation addict, I would love to see some new good looking terminals being built in Iran. The country certainly deserves to have them. But I am sure its because of the government!
Also, I posted an inquiry but didn't get any responses, does anyone know why most Iranian airports have a "Yellow" landing zone marker instead of the usual white color?
I flew IR JFK-THR back in 1978! I am guessing on a 747SP, and I think it was via LHR. Actually got a tour of the flight deck. Too bad I don't remember much! Who knows, that bird may still be in service!
Thanks for the updates. |
