From what I understand tickets are already on sale and are being sold through the specialist Indian/Pakistani travel agents. The flights are due to be operated by an A310, leased from a Turkish airline and will launch on the 30th March and the schedule is: TUE & SAT ISB 17:00 - LTN 20:30 LTN 22:00 - ISB 10:45 Air Sylhet, seem to have a good business plan behind them and will be a UK based airline. They claim they have already sourced a 762ER and will fly from Luton to a number of destinations in Bangladesh and India. Also the claim they will eventually launch services from India and Bangladesh to the USA via the UK. SilverJet my predictions are for one of the new aircraft to fly 3x Wk to LAX, 2x Wk to LAS and 2x Wk to BGI, apparently one of the major long haul tour operators has expressed interest in buying a number of seats on their scheduled services for the leisure traveller. I think the other aircraft is likely to fly to an up and coming destination like Beijing, Delhi or Johannesburg. Anyone know what foreign charter airlines will be flying into the LTN this summer, operating to the summer hot spot destinations? Rememeber XXL Airways will be flying to 5x times weekly to LCA and 2 times weekly to PFO and SSH. I think these are being marketed heavily as scheduled traffic, but the majority of the seats I think are taken up by tour operators. easyJet have scrapped their Turin, Rijeka and Rimini services this coming service and being replaced with daily services to Pisa and Jerey. Still waiting for them and FR to base some new aircrafts or operate more W flights to the airport, as no expansion in the last two years. WizzAir will resume their summer services to Split and Bourgas this summer and has been rumours posted on other forums they may expand their Bulgaria destinations to Varna for this summer and also Plovdiv winter 08/09 for the winter sports fans. They have also added another destination in Poland to their Porfolio and will be flying Wroclaw from March. | |||
