Quote: 09.02.2008 - Transavia Airlines (HV/Amsterdam) has wet-leased a B737-800 to Sunwing Airlines (WG/Toronto Pearson) for the winter season. It will inaugurate three additional routes between the Netherlands and France:
Amsterdam-Bergerac: 4x weekly service starting on April 10
Amsterdam-Montpellier: 4x weekly service starting on April 11
Rotterdam-Paris Orly: 2x daily service starting on March 30
It will however give up its Amsterdam-Copenhagen, Amsterdam-Madrid and Rotterdam-London Stansted routes instead. |

They will return to Transavia in April. Maybe they have too many planes on lease, But make more money leasing their planes out. Not buying fuel, paying crew, etc. |

I do.... Do you know what KL/AF charges for a AMS -CDG roundtrip? Too expensive for tourists with destination Paris, and HV can connect their AMS-ORY hubs for leisure what AF/KL does for business.
KL911

KLM's price is €165,-
Assume HV is able to cut that to somewhere around €100,- it saves some money indeed, but I wonder whether it is enough. Don't forget Rotterdam - Paris is quite easy to reach by train, which also costs around €100,- round trip, maybe a little less when bought well in advance.
Still, when going to Paris with 2 persons or more, driving seems cheaper to me.

Do they offer connections
ORY seems to be a direct replacement for STN, KL recently bought VLM, who do RTM-LCY. Co-incidence or connection? (I know KL do RTM-LHR too, but three AF-KL group carriers on RTM-LON maybe top much)

I think we can expect some changes in the coming months on the LHR/LCY routes ex Holland. Why have KL with 7 a day to LCY ex AMS then only to have VG doing another 11, plus 7 or so ex RTM!
That aside I can see KL positioning themselves out of the RTM-LHR market during the S08 season, with the current proposed schedule they'll only be running 2 flights a day, which isn't a huge problem. But having said that the timings ex LHR now will most likely put off any day trip business men as the first flight will now not arrive into RTM until 12:25......giving you a measly 5 hours 10 minutes before the same day return!
Intentional or not I'm sure that this will kill the route............tragic as far as I'm concerned!
