I saw a Spirit Airlines A321 parked up on the Apron at Luton yesterday evening and was wondering if anyone knew what it was doing here?

It is a long way from home!

Are Spirit using Monarch Engineering for their maintenance?

Or could it be, it has left the fleet and here to join a UK airline, and Monarch are preparing the aircraft for service?

Or my favourite idea is, maybe they have started trans-atlantic services to LTN using the Airbus! Wink

Most of Spirt's A-321 where returned to their lessors and at least one was to be leased to Monarch.

This a/c is I beleive a ZB aircraft, yet to be painted in Monarch colours.

This should be N586NK that will become G-OZBR with Monarch.

I assume this will be replacing one of the 757-200's that are due for retirement... Would that be G-MONB?

(When I say replacing a 757, lets not start going on about how the A321 cannot do all the missions of a ZB 757!)
