I heard on a US flight last night that Massport has banned any additional turboprop commuter flights into or out of BOS to become effective shortly. It seems that such a ban would be illegal as only the FAA has such authority.

Has anyone else heard anything of this ????

Well man there is Eagle, Commutair, Cape Air(recip) and I think Piedmont and Alleghanney. Personally I think they should do what Shuttle America is doing. Move the props out to Bedford and Worcester. I will be interested to hear about this. This is the first I have heard of it, oh well, CYA

Any particular reason? Doesn't American Eagle have a presence there? Wouldn't that mean jobs, tax dollars?

Since Eagle mostly feeds AA at BOS, why on earth would anyone want to fly to Worchester then take a bus or cab to BOS to catch there AA, I wouldn't look for this to happen any time soon.

There is no mention of such a ban at the Massport home page, but check out THIS interesting development announced today.
