Topic: First LAN Aircraft In Oneworld Special Livery Username: RJ_Delta Posted 2008-03-25 14:56:05 and read 5400 times. In the next two weeks (approx) LAN Airlines will show its first aircraft with a LAN-Oneworld special livery. The aircraft is a LAN Argentina A320 LV-BFO and it was painted here in Santiago during the maintenance check and retrofit program.
The reason to select a LAN Argentina plane as its first logojet, is because LAN wants to make the difference from Aerolineas Argentinas after the introduction of the A320 LV-BNZ (newest AR plane). The idea (for LAN Argentina) is: although both carrier will operate a similar aircraft, the LAN Argentina product is superior than Aerolíneas because LAN Argentina is part of a global alliance and offer a high quality product as a world class airline.
Also Probably LAN is considering to paint other aircraft including one plane in LAN Chile.

PS: RJ-Delta, nice to find "En vivo desde SCL" again. |

I expect the same or other modification on the fuselage during the next two week.

Yes it could be nice to see a LAN aircraft with the same JAL oneworld logo.

Yes this will be the new site of "En vivo desde SCL" after the downtime of the original site in AeropuertosArg.

They don't even paint winglets for god sake!
Although pretty boring design, nothing like JL shown above.

Topic: RE: First LAN Aircraft In Oneworld Special Livery Username: RJ_Delta Posted 2008-04-07 20:14:03 and read 4147 times. The final scheme add the tails of the Oneworld members. Actually the LV-BFO is flying initially within domestic routes in Argentina but is probably that the LV-BFO will moved to EZE to make international flights to SCL.
LAN is considering to paint another A32S with CC- registration with the Oneworld special livery.

RJ_Delta.
PD: From April 1st. LAN Argentina is flying to Santiago with two flights per day, excepting Wednesday and Saturday where LAN Argentina operates a single flight. |

How it LAN dealing with these restrictions? I mean, LAN faces two major challenges in Argentina: The dual hub AEP (dom) - EZE (intl) and the LV- registration for the aircrafts.
I don't see why LAN would use a LV- registered aircraft for a route that can be done by LAN (Chile) with a more common CC- registered aircraft.

It's illegal to fly commercial/regular routes with foreign registered aircraft and/or foreign crew.

I know it's not allowed. What i was refering to is, why let LAN Argentina fly EZE-SCL when they don't have lots of LV- planes/crews if LAN Chile can fly SCL-EZE with a CC- aircraft and save LAN Argentina for ops in Argentina (not involving Chile, Peru or Ecuador)?
It's not even "why" but "how" they are dealing with it.

Mainly because the company needs "dollarized" (international) fares, that's the main reason why COR-LIM was put on the table for 4M and not LP. Remember that domestic fares in Argentina are in pesos and band-limited by the government, therefore a full plane does not equal profit in domestic routes.

Topic: RE: First LAN Aircraft In Oneworld Special Livery Username: SABE Posted 2008-04-08 11:36:50 and read 3467 times.Cool! Does anybody know its routing for the next few days? Any chance it might be flying LA4216 on 14 Apr or LA4217 on 15 Apr? |
Topic: RE: First LAN Aircraft In Oneworld Special Livery Username: TBCITDG Posted 2008-04-08 11:48:28 and read 3446 times. To be honest I expected better from LA. I am not a huge fan of the OneWorld livery that they chose. With they great livery they possess, something a little more professional could have been done.
As stated before not many people know/care about what OneWorld is exactly. It makes the aircraft look 'low cost'. |

I saw BFO today at AEP while I was driving through Lugones Ave. It looks like a gorgeous and powerful... bowl.
