Topic: LH To Concretise E-Jet Order Username: Stylo777 Posted 2008-10-18 01:47:57 and read 4838 times.Lufthansa has decided to take 18 of the E190 and 12 of the larger E195. Deliveries will be next year. The order they placed last year for 30 E190 jets was flexible so now the concretion.
Apart from some frames going to Air Dolomiti will the remaining aircrafts put into the fleet of LH Cityline or Eurowings? Any infos yet about where they will be based and/or mainly fly from? |

About that topic I hear billioins of different rumours, but nothing confirmed yet. Still a lot to discuss within LH...

Topic: RE: LH To Concretise E-Jet Order Username: Kaitak Posted 2008-10-18 02:14:20 and read 4739 times. Is Swiss getting any of the E-jets ordered by LH, or does it have its own aircraft on order?
Presumably LH will be increasing its E-Jet order at some stage, to provide replacement aircraft for SN? |

- I can see large numbers of E jets heading to Europe to replace LX & SN Avro fleets, good plane IMO.

yes they also ordered quite a few of the CRJ1000 as they are pleased with the overall performance of the 700 and especially the 900s. These jets go to Cityline for sure as they're the biggest operator of the CRJ within the LH company.

This is a good question. SWISS has to replace sooner or later 20 AVRO RJ 100. But they only need an aircraft which is LCY certified. Are the E 190 and 195 both able to operate to LCY? I guess the CRJ are not.

Me, too, and I hate that idea. More boring twins replacing magnificent quads.

I also like these funny little quads. And furthermore in the SWISS seating with 5 abreast they are also very comfortable (what you can't say about all these horrible cramped 3-3 fitted AVROs/Bae 146).

I understand that the 190 is being certificated for LCY later this year; I'm not sure if this means both versions of the 190, i.e. the 190-100 and/or the 190-200 (195).

As a "Geschäftsführer" you would be rather interested to bring down seatmile-cost ,maintenance cost and increase passenger-comfort..
The Embraer 190's should offer better yields to both,LX and SN ,and allow the introduction of new destinations within their respective networks.
Sure it's nice to see "exotic" aircraft ( hey-I loved my flights in the TU 134 with Syrian Air..! ) but while I have a great interest in aircraft spotting I also conceive the pressure to bring down costs.

as funny and magnificient they are they're getting older and older. Especially the ones of Eurowings going more and more tech which is a main issue (apart from the fuel consumption) to replace them with more modern, efficient and reliable planes.
If I'm not mistaken I heard that too or was it the E170s?
What about the idea LH subsidiary Augsburg Airways with their Dash's to operate the LCY operations on behalf of LX?

I'm not an airline manager, I'm an aviation enthusiast. This all-looks-the-same from E170/190 over A320/737 over 787/A350 to 77W/A3510 is making the whole thing sort of boring.
I'm happy for every quad and every trijet I see.

Does that mean that LH is that elusive undisclosed buyer of 15 (+15) CRJ1000?

That's my question, too. IIRC there hasn't been any announcement of LH buying CRJ1000s.

What about this?
http://www.flightglobal.com/articles...-all-airbus-mainline-fleet-at.html
Quoting Flightglobal: Harbarth says the last 50-seaters will leave during the 2009-10 winter timetable as 112-seat Embraer 195s are delivered. Lufthansa has 30 of the Brazilian regional jets on order, "more than two-thirds" of which are likely to be based in Munich, with the rest going to the airline's principal hub in Frankfurt. |

Topic: RE: LH To Concretise E-Jet Order Username: LH4116 Posted 2008-10-18 09:53:47 and read 3301 times.I guess that the reason to why they went for the ER9 instead of the CRJ-1000 could maybe because Lufthansa Technik wants to gain their maintenance experience by adding another plane. |

yes you guys could be right! after checking their company website it only states an order for the CRJ900 (15 frames in total). so my mistake to say it was for the 1000s.
