I was just wondering what PIA's fleet plans were, particular as far as its smaller aircraft are concerned. I understand it's getting ATRs and I think it had planned to get A320s, but cancelled a deal; did it manage to obtain acft from a new source? If not, is it planning just to soldier on with the 733s and 310s for the time being?

I guess the political situation (and the attendant economic woes) aren't helping?

Has it started n/s transatlantic flights yet, with its -200LRs?

772LRs flying None Stop to Toronto but US flights still stop en-route but fly non stop US-Pakistan.

The lifting of the EU ban on A313s has given PIA some expansion opportunities and ability to match local demand capacity more appropriately.

Manchester has therefore seen significant reductions.

US flights now only in one direction to JFK with the B772LR think down to twice weekly.

Terminators using mix of B772ER/B773ER and A313s on certain days.

Birmingham still has B773 and the Leeds Flight with A313s.

Glasgow twice a week with A313

Heathrow has similar mix as Manchester of Terminators with B773 and A313s (Some flights randomly see the B772ER as well)

The B772LR is being used to Milan with Amsterdam seeing A313s again not sure what's used to Paris, Oslo or Copenhagen however .

Regionally the mix is still A313 and B737s and a think the need will be replace the B737s soon.

Perhaps some leased in B738s or A321s would suit.

Rumored that the 747s may be back in Europe and US from early next year, the grounded 742 Combi AP-BAT may start flying again too as Pakistan-Hahn-New York, HHN being cargo stop.

No plans yet for 737 replacement infact derelict AP-BCC may fly too, no more ATR's on order either they were looking at the 72-500 but nothing came about.

According to Amadeus, the KHI-DAC route from 25DEC is showing aircraft type 74M, so it certainly would appear that we will see at least one Combi returning  Smile

AP-BAK Combi also said to be currently flying to Bangkok and Hong Kong on some flights.

PIA have also tendered for dry lease of 3 A313/A306 and 2-3 733/734 not older than 18 years for first quarter 2009 induction.
