In 2008 Airbus delivered 12 more widebodies (97 to 85) than Boeing did. But this year has started with Boeing hitting the ground running.

In January Airbus delivered just 3 A330s. Boeing delivered a total of 10 widebodies: 1 x 767, 2 x 747, 7 x 777. Is this still Boeing catching up after the strike?

(In January 2008, for comparison, Airbus delivered 6 widebodies and Boeing 8.)

One month is not enough time to draw any conclusions about deliveries -- especially January, with the Airbus holidays and the Boeing strike.

I'm hardly suggesting that Boeing will deliver three times more widebodies than Airbus in all of 2009. I'm just observing that they are pouring out of the doors in Seattle while Toulouse is taking longer to get up and running.

I thought your question was pretty clear PM..  Smile

It would make a lot of sense...
I'd guess that there were many activities that didn't stop during the strike, and that quite a lot of work in progress built up, which may now be working its way out of the system....

I never suspected you might be asking that. You asked:

I pointed out that is one of two reasons.
