Topic: The New Concorde A380 Model At LHR Username: Pjack Posted 2009-05-17 03:02:02 and read 14696 times.I was exploring LHR on Google earth and found this. Click on one of the street view icons and the BA Concorde model on the aerial image magically morphs in to an EK A380!! See the images below.

Absolutely. I stopover in LHR every couple of weeks and still miss seeing the G-CONC model at the roundabout.

I saw Concorde sitting penned in between two sheds yesterday as I flew out.
They say that site is valuable but I can't see why. It's not like you can put a coffee shop there or anything. |

I would also prefer that she still be at the roundabout but she is in safe hands and getting all revamped by the Brooklands Museum volunteers. I wish they would find a better place for her as Brooklands has G-BBDG already.
Singapore Changi Airport by the ATC Tower would be a dream!

I prefer that she be at LHR all covered up (other than tail fin) than sent off to Dubai for some nonsensical purpose. I hope they will find room for her somewhere on LHR grounds and display her like CDG has done for F-BVFF visible by thousands of passengers taxiing every day.
It would be a shame that they'd ship her off to some place that never had anything to do with Concorde. What Dubai is doing to the QE2, the 20th Century most beautiful ocean liner letting her sit idle all the way at the end of the Pier at Port Rashid like a desolate old crappy vessel is a total scancal.
I don't want to see them messing with a Concorde! I hope AB will stay at LHR and be shown off in a beautifufl display as she deserves.

Could this be a good move with the roundabout model.
Have not been in T5 so don't know if the ceiling is high enough. |

Wow! That would actually be a really good idea! But the only problem is getting it into the terminal.
