Hi
I flew into MAN last night at around 01:00hrs and was surprised that we used runway 23L, also we did a 360 on the runway rather than use the turning circle at the end, is that normal?

Just wondering what was going on and whether there was an emergency or something on 23R. With all the flights coming back from Rome yesterday I would be surprised if they had been using 23L all night?

As David says, 23R's been being resurfaced overnight for a couple of weeks. It should have been finished last night...

I've just got back from MAN. I was at the Aviation Viewing Park from around 7:15pm or so, and all movements (takeoff and landing) were happening on 05R!

Just checked this mornings paperwork and this is in force at the mo...

But he said he was there @ 1815Z. The NOTAM is for 30 MAY 21:30 2009 UNTIL 31 MAY 20:00 2009, unless, my goodness, they started work early   (there's a novelty).

That's going to be fun on easterlies today; 30 minute taxiouts from T2 !  

Has 23R/05L ever been closed intentionally throughout the day before with all ops on 23L/05R ?

I guess inbounds will be rolling right to the end to allow outbounds to hold at VC1 and VD1 before going down to the loop....

Good job the 124s not op-ing today.
