I was just listening to the radio news, and the newscaster announced "today, the Concorde will take flight for 2 hours. The plane will break the sound barrier above Ireland".

Now, either this is the best kept secret ever, or my state media should really start checking its sources.

I've sent them a mail asking where they got that info.

Dutch TV stated the same thing. Something about 100 years of aviation in France.

Probably just rumours, though I also saw it on the NOS television, but what about the revoked certificates and the cost of letting one fly? :P

This explains it. It was an April Fool's joke, stating back on April 1st that the Concorde would fly on June 16th over Ireland.

Waw, that article actually states the plane has started its trip... They'll feel silly once it turns out they've just walked into an old april fools joke.

This topic is dead, sadly very similar to Concorde. There's no point in continuing the discussion.
