As always this is a comparison to what was for sale the prior week and not the prior year. Seasonal changes are gradually implemented in the selling schedule.

Of the NW routes that were dropped last week, three were transferred to DL this week:
DBQ-MSP CXLD 2>0
DCA-DSM CXLD 1>0 TRANSFERRED to DL
DTW-FSD CXLD 1>0
JFK-AMS CXLD 1>0 TRANSFERRED to DL
LAX-MKE CXLD 1>0
MSP-MQT CXLD 1>0
MSN-DCA CXLD 1>0 TRANSFERRED to DL

The rest remain canceled.

I changed the format a little again in my continuing quest to reduce my keystrokes. Here is the key:

JFK-CUN 2>1 NOV, JAN means that service was reduced from 2 roundtrips to 1 roundtrip for November and January, but not December.
MCO-SJU 4.5>5.5 NOV- means service increased by 1 roundtrip through infinity or at least the next several months.

Also, please keep in mind that more and more flights don't operate daily (even weekdays) so I often round the number of departures based upon a week or a month.

BTW, the surprising renewed of CVG-IAH service is aboard CRJ aircraft. Somebody must have realized CO was no longer in SkyTeam!  Smile It had been on CRJ and CR9s before it was axed.

Seriously, judging from this board they probably got a ton of complaints.

ATL-MSP 5>4 OCT-

This is a direct result of the DL/NW merger. The economy played a part too of course but now its a hub-to-hub route of the world's largest airline.

DBQ-MSP CXLD 2>0

With CID and MLI right there DBQ will always be a small market, but at least they still keep AE RJ service to all-important ORD.

Quoting Enilria (Thread starter):
DTW-FSD CXLD 1>0

Seems like an awfully long, thin route to me. No surprise to see this one go, pax can easily connect through MSP.

Quoting Enilria (Thread starter):
LAX-MKE CXLD 1>0

The last p2p route gone from MKE, although I suppose that seasonal weekly CUN could stick around? I imagine IND will soon suffer a similar fate. Let's hope somebody there will be able to pick up the slack!

Quoting Enilria (Thread starter):
MSP-MQT CXLD 1>0

I'm surprised this didn't work out given the airline's strength in Michigan, but the city will remain a Delta station served via DTW.

Quoting Enilria (Thread starter):
JFK-CUN 2>1 NOV, JAN
JFK-CUN 3>1 DEC

That's an awful lot of capacity cut from CUN!! I hope that station is still doing well for B6...

Quoting Enilria (Thread starter):
MCO-SJU 4.5>5.5 NOV-

Wow! Might not be long until B6 needs to launch a hub at SJU....

Quoting Enilria (Thread starter):
CVG-IAH RESUME 0>2 SEP-
CVG-MSP 3>5 SEP-

Surprising additions, but great to see DL actually adding something back to CVG. Maybe the hub is finally rightsized, and will see consistent levels of service henceforth.

Quoting Enilria (Thread starter):
LGA-MCI 2>3 OCT-

Interesting addition. I did not know this market was so big! What types of a/c fly this route? I remember AA operated MD-80s on it not long ago...

Quoting Enilria (Thread starter):
SEA-OGG CXLD 1>0 OCT-

I'm sure HA will be delighted with this news. SEA seems like one of their stronger stations. Though, I imagine it will be AS to pick up the slack here....

Quoting Enilria (Thread starter):
BWI-DFW CXLD 1>0 OCT-

Too bad. So much for DFW becoming anything more than a simple spoke.

Quoting Enilria (Thread starter):
MKE-DEN 1>2 OCT-

A surprising addition given the competitive nature of this route.

Quoting Enilria (Thread starter):

NK
FLL-LGA 9>8 DEC-

I had no idea Spirit was so big in this market!

Quoting Enilria (Thread starter):
BHM-IAD CXLD 1>0 OCT-
MYR-IAD CXLD 2>0 OCT-

That BHM-IAD route just doesn't seem to work out for UA. I guess there just isn't much traffic from Birmingham to the nation's capital, East Coast, and beyond....Yet DEN-BHM seems to do great. I'll never understand some things...

MYR has gone seasonal so far as I know, though ORD-MYR service is gone. Will this be a seasonal cut?

Quoting Enilria (Thread starter):
PHL-BGI NEW 0>1 OCT- (BUILDS TO DAILY)

Is this a new route for US, or seasonal resumption? Either way, nice to see Barbados land new links to PHL and JFK, key Northeastern U.S. markets!

Great to see some more flights on MSP-CVG, but sad that some routes from MSP are being cut or downsized. I'm surprised both FL and DL are downgrading on ATL-MSP.

They aren't adding anything back. Delta is just not going to discontinue Houston as it planned.

Quoting SurfandSnow (Reply 3):

It actually ended a while ago, and was brought back after Midwest and Airtran pulled out of MKE-LAX. Though with book carriers now back in the market, makes sense for the return.

Well isn't this interesting, I was banned for 3 days just 2 weeks ago because I was accused of double posting when I first noticed that DL had cancelled CVG-IAH, and here someone else is talking about it and low and behold it's still here. That is a crock of you-know-what. So once again, I say I did not double post.

There was no additional AF this week, however, it isn't uncommon for schedule changes to be out of sync among partners. So that is a possibility, but if so it hasn't happened yet.

I've been hearing it is a cut but that 1 flight will be on a 764, as will CDG-CVG to make up for lost CVG-FRA and CVG-LGW capacity. But this source is not always the most reliable so don't hold me to it.

My understanding is that all foreign authorities have been transferred to DL already. I suspect that F9, who once flew the route, will return soon with the YX code as part of their broader relationship. I would expect FL will fly it as well and much like LAX, DL will not feel the need to fly it with YX/F9 flying it. Could be wrong, though, because we don't yet know what the F9-DL dynamic is going to be. Will they be treated with the same "cousin" status as YX has been now that they are under the same umbrella?

CUN was doing well for B6 until the H1N1 hit, then things went south...really bad. CUN is getting HUGE cuts, not only from JFK. BOS-CUN will be cut during the trough season to only a few days a week, TPA-CUN is suspended, IAD-CUN is reduced as well.

An interesting change in the schedule is the JFK-SLC is being swapped to an E190 (if I read the changes correctly) during the trough season as well.

Interesting. More 190s showing up in the west...  scratchchin

B6JFK', could you check and see if the SLC-SAN route is still a go on the new schedule? (Last time I heard, it was still a year-'round route.) One reason I'm curious is that there have been times in the past when the JFK-SLC run has turned to the SLC-SAN trip and I wonder if, with a fair bit of schedule-tweaking -- including the SAN turn schedule -- that new 190 could somehow end up coming down to visit us at Lindbergh...

Sending those CRJ200's up the CMX was a mistake, they obviously didn't fill and make money, and plus in the winter they didn't land half of the time, it should of been a Saab overnighter up there
