Last week the Cypriot Tourist Organisation launched an incentive scheme in an effort to attract more airlines to LCA and PFO.

The scheme has been approved by the EU and will initially apply to new routes from Italy, Germany and Ireland. Carriers opening new routes will receive financial support in the form of incentives for the first few years of operation until the route is established.

The scheme applies from 2010 onwards.

FR, EI and Lufthansa Italia come to mind. Also expect bids from CY and ECA.

EI would actually be interesting for locals too as it will provide more options to the USA.

I seen this scheme advertised in the business section of the Irish Times on Friday.

From what I can remember they were looking for an airline to operate
a fight from an Irish, German and Italian arport to both LCA and PFO.

Quoting Shamrock321 (Reply 1):
an Irish, German and Italian

Hmm...correct but I think it can be from more than one airports from each country.
