Last night my dad and my brother flew into DEN. My dad said that about 50 feet above the ground the pilot issued a go around, and they then began circling the airport. They then diverted to COS. Did this happen to any other flights and what was the cause?

Thunderstorms in the area last night, moving east. It finally cleared up around 6:30pm. What time was your flight supposed to land in DEN?

We landed at about 430pm and had a roller coaster ride on my flight in from SLC. Lots of showers and storms in the area but luckily we landed safely before the more severe weather came through.

My dad and brother were still in the air at 1130. And then diverted to COS.

My parents flew into Denver last night on NW 547, got in around 11:00 (Scheduled for 10:30), my dad was jumpseating and said that there was windshear all over the place, the plane was rocking and rolling up and down, they landed just fine, but it certainly shook up a lot of people.

Welcome to landing at a city close to the Rocky Mountains. Countless times while landing in YYC, have I been jostled around... It is almost alarming to NOT have some form of turbulence when landing in YYC, especially during the summer. The updrafts off the mountains can be oh, so much fun.

As far as Denver, I consider it Calgary's twin!
