I know US covers the market well, but I think there is some connection opportunity to some Western stations not flown by US. I know UA used to fly 2x 733s..will the restart the service..maybe with Express?

UA has a domestic aircraft shortage right now due to the 737 retirement...so marginal routes such as CLT, where they can codeshare with a partner and still bring in some revenue, are low on the priority list for their remaining aircraft. In fact, I think you would see them launch SFO-CLT with their own metal, due to high-yield Wells Fargo business traffic and easier Asia connections, before DEN-CLT would return.

The current US CLT-SFO schedule already connects well to UA Transpacific services so if UA were to add a flight just to connect it would be on top of a US flight. USFlyerMSP was right, UA has a shortage of mainline equipment so there not going to start a transcon flight when one technically already exists.
