According to this post http://www.flightglobal.com/articles.../airasia-buying-30-of-vietjet.html AirAsia it's buying 30% of VietJet. Is this somethig good or bad?

Great news. I think VietJet AirAsia tie up will result in more routes, better frequencies and lower fares in the Vietnamese market. I especially think they could get great loads on Vietnam China routes. Maybe launch Shenzhen, Hangzhou,...?

No, this one is completely a new venture with a different Vietnam partner. Finally Vietnam AirAsia is materialised! AirAsia simply rocks.

Horrific news for Jetstar, and its one and only venture outside its SIN base in the form of Jetstar Pacific.

If there is no one stopping AirAsia from also grabbing the Filipino market, than I am afraid this region is doomed to have just one humongous dominant LCC. That is terrible news for consumers, and I am getting increasingly frustrated at the slow speed other LCCs are in their own little growth projects.
