Currently stuck at MAN waiting for TOM172, probably a 763, that has gone tech. As usual, very little info but looking at a minimum of 4 hours delay.

Anybody have any further info?

Cheers

AFAIK The inbound aircraft arrived late on stand at around 8:50 from Peurto Plata. In the past, this aircraft is then scheduled to operate your flight to Varadero however i'm not sure but i think this has now departed for Cancun? So the information you will have been given regarding a technical issue? will be true. As ground staff they recieve very little information as it is and will pass it on to you the passengers when they recieve it themselves. I still cant find the actual planned A/C reg for your flight yet though i'm guessing on this route it will be an ex-FCA bird.

Thanks for the info. The seat plan suggests ex FCA, as it's 2-3-2 rather than 2-4-2. We're now told a part is on its way from Luton... Screens currently showing a 13:00 departure (scheduled 09:15), but with a part still on the way I don't see this happening.

Will have to stay in the lounge listening to my Spanish lessons!

Oh, and now I'm really glad I left Bournemouth at 3.00am to make this flight...

12.07pm and we have a gate number... funny how a four hour delay can still exceed your expectations.

If it was G-OOBL then it had a leak to the main water tank when we flew back on it on Monday from Holguin. Maybe that issue has had an effect?
