Just went to the Star Alliance Facebook page
http://www.facebook.com/staralliance?sk=app_145055912232404
to check on their so called big announcement and found no mention of US Airways on their list of member airlines. There's an interactive map with the logo's of all members, but no US. What's up with that?

I doubt it was fixed in the space of four minutes, but it is there.

Ah ha!

But they're still listed on the Star Alliance page http://www.staralliance.com/en/

So there is no case for your argument -- yet.

At first I thought, ah ha. So they're really going to go to oneworld as a first step for a merger with AA. I remember that they got "divorced" from BA years ago with that trans-Atlantic association. I wonder if there are any left over bad feelings that would prevent them from joining oneworld where I think they would do better given the UA/CO merger.

Never had a problem on US. Some people just have bad travel karma I guess.

As a former America West hater, I know this to be true.

There have been days when the only way I could get from Los Angeles to Washington was on US -- either because the last UA or CO plane of the business day had been oversold or because it was Saturday, and no midday departures were offered. On most days I would rather stab myself in the eye than connect through PHL, but you do what you have to do. And US's new Marketplace offereings are as good as anything UA or CO has.

Btw, US has a few monopoly routes like PHX-SEA and PHX-SFO where they have really stepped up service.

Last time I checked there were a few other airlines that flew those routes; I'm sure AS, WN, & UA will be surprised to know they no longer serve PHX

There were 2 US 752s (N935UW and N936UW) in Star Alliance livery until a year or so ago, but both are now back in standard US livery based on the photos below.

Yeah, that's a big gaff -- sorry. I do collect MVP miles.

Next time I go through SEA, I expect my AS friends will suddenly not know me.

They do, actually. PHX- anywhere in Mexico. Aeromexico has once-daily service PHX-HMO-MEX, but that's merely peanuts.
