I am aware that Pan Am did serve all three New York Airports after the National Airlines merger.But I just
spontainiously ran across on timetableimages.com looking in a 1969 Pan Am timetable that they operated a
flight from Newark(EWR) to Bermuda(BDA) and San Juan(SJU). I was never aware that Pan Am ever served Newark
before the National merger.How long did this last.

That's a good question, I would think that Pan Am would have served Laguardia after the NA merger.

I think the OP knows that Pan Am served LGA after the National merger. I think he ran across something that indicated the "traditional" pre-merger Pan Am served EWR, and wants to know if someone can confirm it, and give some details.

I don't have my huge airline schedule collection anymore. Let's look at that Departed Flights web site and see what we can find there. I do know that PA served the likes of MSY, TPA, PDX, BWI, IAH and PHL in the pre-merger 707 days.

And Pan Am of course served LGA before IDL opened. Pan Am's inaugural around-the-world flight originated at LGA in 1947.

I think international flights were forced to move from LGA to IDL sometime beween mid-1950 and mid-1951. Based on TWA timetables from that period, they moved their transatlantic flights from LGA to IDL sometime during that period.

I haven't looked for it in a timetable, but Aviation Week mentioned that PA was planning to start a Newark flight (to San Juan, maybe?) circa 1963. If they did start it it didn't last, but as you see it eventually resumed.

I don't know about pre-National merger Pan Am, but I flew Pan Am EWR-TPA on a DC-10 and TPA-EWR on a Pan Am L1011 sometime between 1981 and 1983. It was either Christmas or Easter. The flight continued on to MIA.

PA has lots of Florida flight from Newark & LaGuardia.

I can remember in the '70's PA having a ticket office at LGA despite not flying there.

Are you sure your not thinking of TWA, whom did fly LGA-PBI for many years. I don't believe PA ever flew anything but express flights to PBI from MIA.

They flew a daily 707 EWR-SJU, flight 245.

The Pan AM Shuttle also operated to Washington-National and Boston from LGA.
