how's the merger of CO/UA into UA affecting the schedules flown by CO Micronesia? I assume they are merging into UA as well? Or Is The name going to be United Micronesia?

Continental Micronesia folded into Continental Airlines on December 23, 2010. This was necessary in order to prepare for the formal merger the following year. Flight numbers changed from CS series 890-999 down to 60-199 in order not to conflict with s-UA's international flights in the same range. Pretty much the entire s-CS flights are still running on schedule since the "re-merging" with s-CO with the exception of the Island Hopper which leaves later than before and drops a Kosrae stop once a week as well as the widebody HNL/NRT service which now sees a s-UA 777 domestic configuration (downgrade in BusinessFirst to domestic first seats but major increase in economy seats).

The planes are being branded United. Many already have been.

The routes should be pretty safe going forward... the new airline is VERY strong in the region.

A true feather in the cap of UA, this region should continue to be very profitable for years to come. I expect to see SFO-GUM some time soon with 777's 3x weekly at first, one frame should be able to handle the route at that frequency.

They were in the 9596-9606 range and now they're in the 5068-5079 range. I'm not exactly sure why but as of now, both ATRs are on island and switch off intermittently on GUM-SPN and GUM-ROP-SPN runs. Simultaneous ops for both planes are rumored to be coming soon.

The last of the Micronesia planes were actually finished last month. Both our last -700 and -800 left the same day for their C checks and repaints. :'( A sad day that was...
