It looks like one of Emirates 380's is behind the triple hangars undergoing some major engine work. Its been back there for at least 3 days.

It appears the aircraft is A6-EDD. Landed at JFK 4 days ago. Don't know what's going on, though.

it appears to either be starting or ending an engine change to the #4 engine. Looking at the JLG's on both sides of the engine and the crane for the Nose cowl , As a mechanic?? That's my best Guess..
Do they even Have a hangar at JFK that will Fit an A380?? I haven't been on the Ground at JFK in over 30 Years but when I was thee last I thought Hangar 19 was large enough.
I KNOW the United Hangars couldn't so the old TWA and Pan-AM hangars were the best bet.
That's Got to be a blow to their engine Reliability program. But then again ? Maybe not. The FAA tracks EVERY in flt shutdown or internal failure against ETOPS engine reliability even on a 4 engine airplane. As they're Not US Registered that might not be the case where they come from.

No hangars are even really used anymore at JFK except for AA & JetBlue hangars. I always see DL doing "hangar" work in the Radieon DeIcing building.

And they are doing great job not to leak any information.
I just love Emirates' PR. They are doing such great job to protect the airlines' reputation.
Any small information regarding safety and maintenance would always attract attentions.
The less you are exposed, the little people talk about.

Pan Am hangar is still there.

The TWA one was demolished

This aircraft was towed over several days ago. I was wondering why it was moving around the airport mid morning

That TWA hangar could fit a 747. (Two, maybe.) Very impressive structure. Was there just a year before AA screwed -- I mean acquired -- them.

As the fog rolled in they towed her to the gate.

FlightAware shows EK 202 being cancelled on Oct. 14. That's a massive number of people to reaccomodate; I wonder if they flew in a deadhead A380 to pick up the stranded passengers.
