This is SYD's second control tower built in about 1941

It's still there, but easy to miss from the road. It's sort of been incorporated into the QANTAS T3

It's still there and will need to be incorporated in the master plan... From memory the building has been historical listed therefore can't be demolished...

Sort of on the subject, can anyone point me to any photos of the the 1970s TAA terminal, painted dark blue overall with the gate lounges bright colours?

That's how I remember it, anyway.

The NNW-SSE runway in the 1943 aerial looks to be maybe 1000-1200 ft from the terminal? So the present 16R is west of that line? Maybe the parallel taxiway is on the line of the old runway?
