Long awaited service. Glad its here finally.

PDX now has nonstop service to four Hawaiian islands.

HNL: 1x daily HA, 1x daily AS
OGG: 2x daily AS
LIH: 4x/week AS
KOA: 4x/week AS

Congrats PDX! I passed the ceremonies at the gate earlier this morning. Incidentally, it was only the second time I had flown through PDX (and the first time I had been on the A-B-C side of the terminal), but that airport has to be one of my favorite in the country, hands down.

It is indeed a great airport, and beautiful - not sure if they ever fixed those inevitable leaks in the ceiling - and lots of good news has been heaped on it lately. More new routes have been announced at PDX recently than at any other similarly-sized airport in the country, and AS is definitely driving most of the growth. It's refreshing to see a market so loyal to the local airline that has always treated it well and to see that loyalty be rewarded.

Nope, buckets are out again this fall at the E gates.

The buckets are also at baggage claim, and the C gates. Saw them there on Saturday.

You'd think the airport would have fixed the leaks by now. In fact, the C terminal has had leaks since it was renovated starting in 1998!

One would think here in Oregon, we could come up with a leak proof roof, but well before 1998 the roofs have leaked throughout the airport, time was before the canopy was installed over the main roadway out front, the airport was almost soggy at times, especially when accumulated snow started melting. I'm surprised it's been leaking so many years.

Still a great airport, one of the best I've ever been through, and proud to call my hometown airport.
