It appears that the DL 744 interior modifications have been completed as N673US(#16) should re-enter service SIN-NRT on Nov13. On Nov12 a previously completed aircraft N662US, should re-enter service on the same route. These two aircraft are to be replaced by a 763-ER showing NRT-SIN on Nov11 and another 744(previous mod) on Nov12. Looks to be some unfinished or new work on 3 of the 744's being done as this is the 3rd aircraft to return to QPG(WSAP).

It's interesting to see the 763 on a one way trip into SIN--perhaps some of the modifications will be done there as well as HAECO?

Another DL B763ER, ship #1607 (N1607B) has been in QPG since 10/20 and this is also a previously modded aircraft done by HAECO in 2011. I wonder why it has been there for the last three weeks; installation of International WiFi perhaps?

So this is putting some slack in the entire fleet of 763s and 763ERs?

I read that it was about a two week process, but perhaps that's the answer as well as for the 744 returns to SIN. It would have seemed like that once the decision was made for wifi that the aircraft currently in modifications would be receiving that installation as well, just to cut down on the out-of-service time.

So I guess it's more involved than just drilling a hole in the ceiling for the antenna and hooking the coax cable to the modem. Someone care to expound?

I was recently on N1201P on a repositioning flight PDX-ATL after it had flown NRT-PDX. Flightaware showed this bird was in NRT from 17 Sep to 01 Nov. That's a long time. Doesn't seem like wifi. The interior was very sparkly and shiny new...with the lie flat seats...was it that mod, perhaps? Or a c-check?

Ship N662US is now sked for SIN-NRT-SFO-ATL, arriving SFO as flight 618/12Nov and departing for ATL as flight 61. A rare day for the DL 744 in SFO.
