Skyliner is reporting G-MONR is on it's way to TUP for part-out and scrap, and a MON A320 will join her.
What a great servant she's been to Monarch. Presume the other three will follow soon.

A320 G-MPCD is indeed on it's way to TUP too.

The other 3 A300's still have a bit more life left in them yet, don't write them off just yet!

Both aircraft are due to leave tomorrow from Luton, heading via Portsmouth for customs and via Reykjavik for CD.

I have heard they are due to leave at 9am (NR) and 10am CD, but sadly as a ferry this could easily change, shame hope to see them before they go.

G-MONR was at BRU today, basic MON-cs, no titles

Shame to see them go, a big chunk of widebody Monarch going and not to be replaced.....

Quoting leonard320 (Reply 2):

The former Portsmouth Airport is now an Industrial Estate. And could 'NR not have cleared customs at LTN?

Their both heading to Portsmouth, New Hampshire PSM, I suspect it's simply a matter of US customs and potentially a fuel stop if needed.

Currently NR hasn't made it to LTN yet so who knows when it will happen.

It was based at Gatwick and the ferry flight from LGW-LTN was done with the landing gear down for the flight as they couldn't retract it! Good ol Monarch A300's! I will miss dispatching them when they are gone

Too bad, I hope I would still some day get chance to fly on an A300, I hope some airlines will keep operating them for a few more years so I might get a chance to travel on one after I have finished my studies.

I remember spotting G-MONR in CFU while waiting for our Finnair holiday flight to refuel for flight to Helsinki.

The MON A300's are always an interesting site in LGW and always a pleasure to have flying over my village.

The A300 is a beast of a bird, hopefully the remaining 3 A300's stay around for a little while longer.

Rest in pieces (if you pardon the pun) MONR.

When will the other A300s leave the fleet?

G-MONR has just been retired, G-MONS will be retired at the end of the summer 2013 season, the other 2 (G-MAJS / OJMR) at the end of the summer 2014 season.

According to Jethros website, the other Monarch A300's are due out like so:

G-MAJS to be WFU at the end of Summer 2014
G-MONS to be WFU at the end of Summer 2013
G-OJMR to be WFU at the end of Summer 2014

Both G-MONR (A300) and G-MPCD (A320) are currently in Brussels.

All 3 Boeing 757-200's will be leaving the fleet at the end of the Summer 2014 schedule too.

There should be 1 that leaves end of next summer then the last 2 end of Summer 14.

What a shame! I had a great flight on MONR last year. The legroom was horrific, but the powerful take-off from LTN was well worth it!

It will be a sad day when her sisters leave the fleet in 2014, one less type to grace the European skies and one more type to be replaced by the 320 family.

Apparently it was touch and go whether she would get to this point during the summer season with enough cycles/hours to operate the schedule.

CD had engines swapped over with another MON A320 whilst in BRU.

What a shame. My tripreport on G-MONR and also G-DAJB (the oldest A300 and 757) can be seen here: Monarch: 2 A.netters Onboard Their A300 & 757-200 (by airbuseric Dec 24 2011 in Trip Reports)

That was G-OZBB, as there were rumours circlating that BB was on its way to the scrappers so that clears that up.

Not sure to be honest. G-MPCD is leased from ILFC, where as G-MONR isn't leased at all according to Planespotters.net

They may be going to Brussels for repainting, although you'd have thought that they would do that at Air Livery in MAN

I flew MONR way back in 2000 - to MBA. Over 300 of us crammed in, it was a memorable journey. By chance, i took the same aircraft last October from PMI to LGW opting to sit in the front section. Lovely flight, very comfy. Certainly glad I got to fly on one of these... piece of history almost gone.

Looks like G-MONR made it into Luton yesterday evening, though it would seem G-MPCD is still in Brussels. Any word on updated departure information to the US for both?

G-MONR as of 40 Minutes ago was in the process of getting ready, looked like they were about to fuel but the Flight deck were onboard, the ETD I was told was 1400, as of now it has not gone from what I have seen.

On a similar theme, former Thomas Cook 757 G-TCBA, now N972FD, has just left Manchester en route to Victorville, but for freighter conversion rather than scrap. This was new as G-OOOY and like the Monarch A300 has spent its entire career to date on UK leisure flying
