I was looking at www.departedflights.com and find it hard to believe that Pan Am actually had 27 flights/day between JFK-LHR as it states in June 1988, that equates to a departure around every 45 minutes! Here's the link: http://www.departedflights.com/PAJFKhub.html

Ok, thanks for the clarification! That's what I thought it meant but read "Numbers indicate number of daily departures to destination. Pan Am Express flights are not included in statistics." near the top of the page....kind of confusing if you ask me   

It was three a day I think, the same as BA.

Probably because it says "numbers indicate number of DAILY departures to destination" directly underneath. I can certainly see the confusion.

Yes, the standard offering from Pan Am in the eighties was three 747s a day. PA 103, the one that crashed in Scotland after a bomb went off in the cargo in 1988, was the third of the day, originating in Frankfurt mid-afternoon as a 727 and 18h00 out of Heathrow as a 747 with onward service from JFK to DTW as a 727 again.

Didn't this become "Clipper Eleven" rather quickly after Lockerbie?

I do recall reading that back in the very early 70s just prior to the introduction of the 747, Pan Am was operating a 707 almost every hour from the World-port to LHR in the afternoon evening period. Anyone have knowledge during this era?

In my early '89 timetables it was Clipper Three, but became Clipper Eleven soon after. BTW, Clipper Eleven was PA's final flight out of LHR. Also, how long did PA take to drop Clipper 103? From what I have read it takes some airlines a week or so to changed crashed flight numbers (NW 255, UA 232, AA 191, etc.).

SAS changed SK911/912 to SK909/910 about a month after the 911 attacks.

Though it wasn't related to the carrier, many airlines dropped flight # 911 from their sequesce.

Suggest send an e-mail to the operator of that website. He is normally very good at replying. I'm sure he will correct the wording to avoid the confusion mention if someone makes him aware of it.
