Topic: Swiss Switching 1 ZRH-JFK Flight To Edelweiss Username: mesaflyguy Posted 2012-12-26 23:40:34 and read 8058 times.Seems that, as of March 31st, Swiss is switching one of their daily Zurich-JFK rotations over to Eidelweiss, the carrier's leisure-based subsidiary.
The 1pm departure from ZRH and the 6pm departure from JFK will now be operated by an Eidelweiss Airbus a330-300 aircraft.
I'm interested as to why they are switching a route that I would think has high business traffic over to an aircraft with an inferior business product. Either way, it will be nice to see a new tail at JFK. |

I looked up a random data (may 31 2013) there it is again a SWISS flight. As I said above they probably have a 330 shortage for a few weeks.

Topic: Swiss Switching 1 ZRH-JFK Flight To Edelweiss Username: Lufthansa411 Posted 2012-12-27 00:27:45 and read 7854 times.According to a friend of mine at LX, only 1x maybe 2x per week will be operated by Edelweiss.
However, the aircraft will still be an LX aircraft- only the crews are coming from Edelweiss, including cockpit. Why they are doing this I have no idea, and neither does my source. |

Might be the case, as when asking availability, there are F-seats. Edelweiss aircraft have no F. |

Thanks for clearing that up! It makes sense to share the crews.
Whoops, sorry I didn't see that!

As mentioned already, it is due to a temporary shortage of LX crews.
