Hello everyone!

I wanted to ask this earlier but it slipped my mind. I only just remembered I wanted to ask this!
I was at Heathrow on 28th Dec at about 8am when I saw a completely white 777. It was parked at gate 23 in Terminal 3. Here's a photo!

Can anyone help explain why it was completely white!

Thanks!!

David

Looks more like a 767-300 to me.

It could be a four-door 767-300ER. Door 3R looks like the smaller Type A.

Oh sorry my bad. This was the closest I could get to the aircraft so I was unable to spot the registration. The weather wasn't very good too...

It looks like Ethipoians' ET-AME based on the ME on the nose gear door. I do not know why it is all white, considering it used to be painted in their livery:

I think I can see "ME" on the nose gear doors when I zoom in, which makes me think it might be ET-AME of Ethiopian Airlines - a 767-300ER:

Looks like Polot beat me to it!

The gear door reads 'ME' so unless I'm mistaken it's not a US-registered bird.

Looks like I was too late! Just found out it was ET-AME.

Do you not have a complete registration? Can see -ME on the nosegear flaps.

It's NZ's. After painting a 77W, a 32S, and an ATR in an All Blacks livery to support New Zealand's rugby team, they painted a 763 in an All Whites livery to support New Zealand's football team.

It cannot be NZ's. Air NZ uses Terminal 1 at LHR and not Teminal 3.

This is why we should have a sarcasm font on the site.

Possibly already repainted in white in preparation of return to lessor. ET-AME was delivered to KLM in 1996, and is leased from ILFC.

Correct, it is ET's 767.

It is all white as it was repainted prior to return to lessor, but due to the late delivery of the 787's, the airline has kept the aircraft a little longer.

According to flight data 24, ET-AME operated ADD-LHR-ADD as the ET700/701 on Dec 28th.

So that ties up.

since we know this plane is a 767 and its reason... Did we ever determin what Boeing was doing with that all white 777 a few months ago that sported an experimental print for a while?

That aircraft was eventually sold to iraqi airways:
