It isn't very often you see a great picture on here, and can provide a unique perspective let alone two of your own. That is the case with this picture. I thought it looked very familiar when I saw it the other day.

Your eye probably goes to the girl in the pink hat, and then to the plane. However, if you look to the far left, in the black shirt in the water, that good looking guy is me!
My brother & dad are also in this picture. My brother is taking pictures of this landing in the white shirt behind the girl with the pink hat. He is on one knee. You will also see his perspective of the landing. We were in St. Maarten on a cruise, so I was only on Maho beach for a few incredible hours. So it was awesome that I was able to see this low landing in person.
I thought I could make this excellent picture even more interesting, because I wasn't taking pictures down there at the water line. I was shooting video. It was indeed a very low approach. Much lower then anything else that day. Enjoy!

Wait.. Theres an airplane in that photo? I was wondering how it wound up on a.net. You really have to focus to see the 757 amidst the other "scenery"

I'm worried...my eye went first for the plane and then the girl in pink hat... 
Seriously though, can't believe I'm so close to SXM (about an hour on plane) and I haven't been able to visit Maho beach.

Will be at SXM on the 22nd of March for ten wonderful days of beach bunny and aircraft spotting. Taking the wife on a much delayed honeymoon and we are both so pumped. I've been showing her photographs of the Maho Beach scene and many of the photos, especially this one have her wondering what she's getting herself in to. Staying at the Sonesta Maho and though I've heard some gripes about the place, I'm going to roll the dice and hope for the best. Just need a place to lay my head anyway.

The Sonesta Maho is an awesome place. If you're lucky you'll get a room that over looks the beach so you can catch all the landing from your balcony! The only downfall is their A/C only cools the floor. But everything else is awesome. Can't beat getting to see all the planes fly overhead. Hope you are down there one day for the KLM 747 landing. Videos don't do it justice. Will upload my video once I make it home.

Stopped there on cruise...went to maho...awesome awesome awesome!
Went back for 3 days and stayed at sonesta...never ever again!
One day on this awesome beach is all you need.
There are more friendly places to spend ur money...especially if u bat for the other team.

Thanks for the complements on the video. It was a great day. I'll be back there some day soon I hope. I went back to see if I had any pictures of the girl with the pink hat in them to see if I could provide another view, but no such luck.

I have a Nikon Coolpix AW100. I got it for my trip to go snorkeling with it. I forget the depth it is rated, but it's shock proof and has a built in GPS. It's been a great camera so far.

Uh oh! What was it about the Sonesta that left such a bad taste in your mouth? Already have a tower suite reserved there for late March and now am wondering what I've gotten myself into!

Awesome! I recently purchased a GoPro Hero 2. I have used it quite a bit while flying and at work (ramp) but havent had a chance to do anything under water yet.

There is a photo currently up taken from inside a US 752 landing at SXM and I got to thinking has any "team" ever managed to get a photo combo of the plane from outside landing at SXM while someone takes the same flight photo looking down at the beach while landing?
