Topic: Lufthansa A340-313x In EZE - Any Ideas Why? Username: dcajet Posted 2013-02-04 12:42:22 and read 7627 times.A spotter's blog from Buenos Aires (http://aerar.blogspot.com/) reports that D-AIFC visited EZE on 1/17/13 - where it can be seen being catered and refueled.
I asked the photographer and he tells me it was in addition to LH's daily 744 FRA-EZE-FRA rotation.
To add more mystery to the visit, this seems to be a MUC-based airframe; according to some online databases it flies mostly out of there but with the occasional rotation out of DUS, but with an AB call sign - the plot thickens or the DB are cocking up. Hardly unlikely!
Does anyone have any ideas what was D-AIFC doing in Argentina - as I don't think Lufty has ever sent the classic 340 to EZE in scheduled services - only the 744 and 346 in the last decade or so.

There was one such a flight in 2010 to USH with a stop in EZE. |

Flying for Hapag Lloyd Kreuzfahrten?
They regularly do so, like FRA-HNL nonstop iirc.

Apparently MS Dolphin of German company Passat Cruises is doing an Antarctic/South America tour.
In the last years LH operated for the famous MS Deutschland as well (a German TV series is shot on the ship). Routes from MUC were to airports like: BGI, MSY, PTY, HNL, PPT (via HNL), MBJ, SCL.
Air Berlin often operates charters to carribbean islands like CUR or to cities like MAO as well. |
