Since I am flying a US 762 from PHL-BRU this week I have been beginning to think how many 767-200s are flying transatlantic these days. I know at some point 767s in general were the most common transatlantic aircraft but I am not sure if this is still the case. Is US the only airline to operate 762s across the pond and also, how much longer can we expect to see these birds operating transatlantic services?

For the past 3 years Canadian cargo carrier Cargojet Airways has been operating a converted 762 freighter on a weekly flight from Hamilton (YHM) to WAW on a wet-lease basis for LOT. I think their fleet includes 2 762s, both ex-AA aircraft. ![]() Photo © Thomas Posch - VAP

Not sure if this helps you in anyway, but I am a controller in Chicago and handle east bound departures. I would say the 767 is still for sure the most common plane to go across the pond out east from Chicago. Obviously not 762's, but 763's doing it all day long.
