At DCA and DL is offering a nonstop to ORD today (DL 3271) on a CR9. Is this a one off occurrence, or a new add to the schedule?

CR9

It may be a positioning flight because of the weather.

Flight numbers 3265-3273, as well as 4375-4399 are ferry flights for Pinnacle, so I would second what Selmer40 said.

How does this work with slot restrictions? Surely DL doesn't have a slot for DCA-ORD. Is there a special exception in this case?

It was a repo flight due to the JFK cancellations today to make up for a originator tomorrow.

ORD is within the DCA perimeter. So no problem to cancel JFK and fly to ORD with that departure slot.

Is the perimeter rule even in effect for repositioning flights?

Exceptions for ferries/repositioning can be requested regardless of destination.

The slots are for scheduled operations.
