Following Transport Canada occurrence report for Saturday, July 20.

A Kingdom of Saudi Arabia registered Airbus A310-300 (HZ-NSA) from New York/ LaGuardia, NY (KLGA) to London/ Stansted (EGSS), flying overhead Gander, NL (CYQX) at approximately 0400Z reported fuel filter problems and diverted to Gander to investigate. No emergency declared and the aircraft landed at 0420Z without incident.

The aircraft below. Looks like it's been a VIP aircraft since delivered in 1987, part of the Sultan of Brunei's fleet until it went to Saudi Arabia a few years ago.

Based on the FlightAware routing information, it looks like it probably delivered someone to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota (RST).

Are private/corporate flights not subject to the LGA perimeter rule that limits nonstop flights to destinations within 1,500 miles (except DEN and except on Saturday)? According to FlightAware, this flight departed LGA at 10:01 PM Friday night.

Westbound, it operated nonstop STN-RST on Thursday.

Wow, it's nice seeing a widebody (going anywhere) using LGA these days, let alone a widebody going international!

General aviation is exempt.

Maybe someone ran it back a few, a la Nissan Skylines in North America

But probably not.

These VIP jet interiors are so generic, nothing original east, west, north or south.

True, but the livery makes up for it.

Usually "original" ends up like this . Better to stay generic.

Had a nice view of it as it cruised over Dublin on the way to Stansted later on Sunday morning.

Well it makes sense. If you want to rent your airplane out, you don't want a classless interior like so many middle eastern oil rich people have. That would turn off potential clients to wanting to rent your airplane with such a hideous and tasteless design choice.

The above is middle eastern and not over done, anyways I find them all classless and tacky any part of the world, small bizjets on the other hand tend to retain sophistication.

The interior reminds me a lot of a shisha lounge called the 113 in Marrakech, it has exactly the same type of decoration and leather seats. I can imagine them sitting there puffing away on a mint flavoured shisha - I guess they can do whatever they want.

The A310 holds a special little place in my heart, I guess you could say. Glad to see that there is a nice VIP one for sale (if only had the cash monies) and still a few flying pax around commercially!
