I assume the plane sits at JFK all day, but does it do the same in SCL? Do they use it in any domestic or small range destinations (EZE, GRU, etc) during the day?

My wariness in my previous post is partly based on repeated plans for myself and my son, in the 787s 'better days' , i.e. before January, to also jump on the MAD-FRA 787 sector when it started. But the fact that this has already been put off a few times means there is no way that I can trust this aircraft. I'd bet even odds (given another incident....and we are still learning of the Qatar one) that any near future bookings will end up on a 767 or a flight operated by Iberia.

So getting back to the topic at hand, it will be a nice day in frankfurt when we have the AI, QR, NH, and LA together on the ramp!!

You are getting there! Coming in on the bus from a hard stand yesterday from our flight from TRN , saw a QR parked on my left and a HN has just lifted off on our right

LA705 FRA 19:50-22:20 MAD 23:55 -08:30+1 SCL 787 D

I just went to the LAN website to try and book a MAD-FRA flight on October 12th and the page says.

Los vuelos entre Madrid y Frankfurt está disponibles entre el 1 de julio y 30 de septiembre de 2013.

No existe disponibilidad de vuelos para este destino en las fechas indicadas. Por favor, reintente con otras fechas.

¨Flights between Madrid and Frankfurt are available between 1st of July and 30th of September, please retry with other dates.¨

¨There´s no availability of flights for this destination on the indicated dates, please retry with other dates.¨

Same for the 19th, and so on.

Come on LAN!!

Going back a few months there were discussions about the MAD-FRA tag being cancelled, and that the cancellation coincided with the introduction of the 787 - there were suggestions at the time that by cancelling the tag to FRA it gave a longer turn around time in MAD in case there were any problems [ and this was before the battery and ELT issues].

I was therefore a bit surprised to see that MAD-FRA was back in the frame- but maybe LAN are reverting back now to their original plan and when the 787 come on-stream the FRA tag will be dropped - whether that would be a temporary thing or permanent I don't know.

I remember that, rumours talked about a direct SCL-FRA flight (don´t think the 787 has the legs for such flight tho)

Same as me (see previous posts) I tried for 12/10 MAD-FRA and no flight available, the funny thing is that on the 11/10 the SCL-MAD flight shows as operated by the 787.

Yes - unfortunately the QR and NH ones are gone by the time AI lands... Need some more delays LOL! I want a photo!

And I forgot ET. Although they have been subbing in a 767 for a while now...

It will be NH, QR, AI, LA, and ET... I want a group photo please!!!
