Anyone know what the white A330 was doing at the AC YVR hangar today? Did the AN-224 unloading on the other side have something to do with it?

The AN-124 was in Richmond loading helicopters for destinations in Australia and the middle east. There is no mention of a white tail airbus in the loading process and don't see why they'd need it.

Its a bizjet! Its VP-CBE of Hongkong Jet. Came in last year too, would love to know who uses it.

Unrelated to the An124 as stated.

The A330 you speak of has actually been there since at least Monday, and the An124 payed us a visit this afternoon. Definitely some interesting traffic today!

I saw the Hong Kong Jet at JFK about 10 days ago. Funnily enough although registered to Hong Kong Jet, this A330 has never been to HKG!!

I think it's just a jet for charter. It has 9-across seating in Y.

There was a thread on it back in March: Hongkong JET A330 - What's The Story? (by debonair Mar 10 2013 in Civil Aviation)
but this didn't shed much light on what type of operations it undertakes.
As well as the locations mentioned above, it has been spotted at AMS, STN, MAN, MNL, DWC and HND in the past year, so it gets around.

Reminds me of that unpainted "ghost" 744F China Airlines has. Supposedly that plane can transport sensitive and special cargo due to its anonymity, so this A330 can transport...sensitive and special guests? I kid, of course.

Yeah according to the last poster in that thread; it was getting an interiour refit. Who knows. 99% it is a charter jet of some sort...I don't know the config. I don't think it's a billionaire's personal play toy.

That said, if I had my own widebody, I might paint it white just to confuse people.   Either that or an ostentatious, creative, colorful scheme which most of you all would hate.

I thought that 744F was the "unlucky" one which had its nose cargo door blown off during pressurization tests before delivery. This made some folks at CI a little spooked about it having bad luck and so they didn't ever paint it.

I would paint it in airline colors to make it stand out less.

Air France livery wouldn't take much paint. A Star Alliance livery might blend more worldwide.
