Runway excursion of an Austral Líneas Aéreas Embraer 190 apparently?

There are several inbound long haul flights diverting to other airports such as Montevideo and Rio it would seem.

Several feet past the runway end. They almost rip off the approach lights ( stoped only a couple of feet before hit )...
A runway overran with an E-190, in a +10.000 ft. runway.... let's see what explanation they have for this.... ( Probably the World's Master of Airline Management, Mr. Recalde, will say that this was a consequence of evasive actions to avoid a LAN Argentina aircraft who violated the runway's holding position, and he's requesting the government immediate action against 4M )

A picture available shows the aircraft

It landed during a strong storm with also strong winds.

Some flights diverted included AZ and BA (both landed in GIG).
Airport is now open as the plane was removed.

Aircraft involved is Austral's E190AR LV-CKZ bound from GRU.

GIG actually my friend.
GRU, BSB and CNF flights diverted to AEP.

Gonzalo,

With all due respect, you do seem to point scoring on this.

I know that Gonzalo has a very pro LAN / anti AR approach most of the times but due to recent comments and attitudes that Mr. Recalde and the Argentinian authorities have had against LAN. I find this particular comment a bit funny

The good thing though is that no one got hurt and that the bird will be able to fly again after a little bit of TLC.

Regards.

You are absolutely right - I did verify the information but somehow, I posted GRU. It's GIG. Aircraft involved is LV-CKZ an E190AR, causing delays and cancellations in domestic flights - SFN is cancelled (AR2475).

Looks like aquaplanning was involved in the incident - 17/35 that had been closed yesterday for repaving purposes - it was opened temporarily until the aircraft can be removed from position. No injuries or casualites. Passengers are awaiting for statments with JIAAC inspectors.

Thunderstorms and heavy showers occurred at the time of the incident (0530 LT).

Saludos,
