Ok, I was wondering on what U.S. (And foreign airlines welcome) are cutting back their meal services due to the attacks? So far, I have come across the following with cutbacks:

America West
American
Delta

Any more info welcome.

United has cut economy meal service on flights under 1635 miles. They did retain snack box service on flights to the east coast from Denver.

AA and CO have guidelines for flight lengths, destination, and/or times of day when meal service will be provided by cabin on their websites.

Even under the new guidelines, former TWA flights will probably get an upgrade since TWA had pretty much gone non-food in their last years.

Delta still serves meals on flights of 4+ hours in Coach and I believe on 2+ hour flights in First. I think that is pretty much in line with everyone else. I haven't seen any meals on United either (flights have been under 3 hours).

Reminds me of a story I heard several years ago :

During a US domestic flight the cabin crew found that due to a catering mix-up they were 10 meals short.

The purser got on the PA and explained the situation and finished by saying "Anyone not wanting a meal please press your call button now"

ALL 150 passengers pressing thier call buttons at once caused a minor electrical breakdown on the aeroplane.

Says a lot for that airline's reputation for meals dosn't it ???
