What are all of the routes flown by BA and AF to and from Africa, what aicraft are used, and approximately what time of day (morning, evening, late evening, night) do these flights depart? Thanks!

Thanks! What aircraft are all of these flights though and does anyone know anything about AF? I was going to download an AF timetable, but they don't have one that is downloadable.

Air France routes to/from Africa:

Abidjan, Agadir, Bamako, Bangui, Brazzaville, Cairo, Casablanca, Conakry, Cotonou, Dakar, Djibouti, Douala, Johannesburg, Lagos, Libreville, Lome, Luanda, Marrakech, N'Djamena, Niamey, Nouakchott, Ouagadougou, Port Harcourt, Rabat and Yaounde

as well as to the islands of Madagascar, Mauritius, Reunion and Seychelles

Flights are operated with A310, A340, B767, B777 and B747

A310 won't be in use on AF's African routes for much longer. They will be retired this spring (or might already have been so).

Since the demise of SN and the troubles at Air Afrique, AF has incrreased frequencies and equipment sizes on many African routes. Some are now operated with 747 or A340 instead of the A310 or B767, which were used before.

Thank you very much everyone! What aircraft are used on EACH of these flights and which destinations are continuations of a flight?

Equipment varies with respect to BA's services-the vast majority of which are served with the 777 or 744; exceptions include Tripoli, Addis & Alexandria, which are served by British Mediterranean with an A320, and a few other North African routes which may get the 737.

Unfortunately, I don't have a timetable, but generally we are talking 747's and 777's.

I've browsed through BA's timetable for this summer and I was surprised to see that some services to Amsterdam or Jersey from Gatwick are using 737-700.
I didn't know that BA is going to use that type of aircraft especially after ordering the 318,319,320,321...
do you know more about it ?

AFAIK, BA don't have any plans to operate the 737-700; perhaps it is operated by another carrier for BA, or just a printing error on the series end (300/700).

Airplanetire, it would take me too long to make up a whole list-better to get yourself a world timetable and look it all up in there.

Just go to your nearest travel agent and ask for the latest BA timetable-it's just like any other printed airline timetable, and its free (they should never charge you for one).

Failing that, try your nearest BA office, or if you're that desperate you can always go to BA's Ticket sales desk at Atlanta airport!

BA uses the 767 on some African routes to places like Entebbe.These are the 767s that were based at LGW but now at LHR

True, which is why I said that the equipment varies-they seem keener to match size with demand-although I wonder how long the 767 will remain with BA.
