If you read the comments on the pictures you added, you will realize that they used these aircraft around the Haj. They don't need that capicity during the rest of the year except for this time so why buy a plane, have it sitting all year doing nothing when you can lease one, paint a bit on it and than give it back. |

Sometime in the mid-eighties, Garuda operated a code-share flight between JKT and AMS. Hence, one of the KLM B742s had the tail repainted with the Garuda bird, but the fuselage retained the KLM blue. It was a promotion of the code share similar to SIA/BA Concorde, CO/AZ DC10, NW/KLM DC10. |
