Are there any routes into Toronto that would require the capacity of an A380? Is AC, (or Airbus Canada as I call them!) thinking about adding the type? Is T-New being built with the capability of handling the double-decker? Just curious, haven't seen this discussed before.

YYZ-LHR would be my guess, but no airline that flies this route has ordered the A380. MAYBE YYZ-FRA.

You'd probably see a few cargo A380's there as well.

And yes, T-New will be able to handle this craft.

If Airbus ever comes out with a Combi version, I think Air Canada could put it to good use.

To second that, I think Vancouver will be the first city in Canada to see the A380 because of the YVR-HKG route. I'm not sure if CX has ordered the A380, but if they have, they would definitely use it to Vancouver. Maybe they'd even continue it to Toronto?

Actually Rai, your probably right, YVR maybe the first spot in Canada given the traffic between HKG. One more question. What will be used to deplane an A380?

Double Decker Jetway?
Would there be seperate entrances/exits for business and coach on each level? (ie total of 4 seperate exits, two per level)

YUL will probably be the first city in Canada to see the A380. AF has firm orders for them and YUL-CDG is one of their most heavily travelled transcontinental routes. My guess is that since there is so much competition on YYZ-LHR, frequency over size rules that route.

So far, Air France is the only carrier that has included Canada in their planned A380 services. They propose to use the aircraft on their Paris - Montreal route.

It was a problem discussed at a meeting between the Winnipeg Airports Authority and me. As they are getting ready to expand, I asked them if they were ready for the new A380, and how would it work. They told me it would be the same as the 747. Just use the same equipment. Its design is to be "Airport Friendly" Have to keep in mind if you want your plane you designed to be successful, it has to be able to get in and out of major airports with out any snags.

How would dorval handle a A380, I have been to this airport serveral times and it is getting very old. Would it be able to handel it?
