Now, I know I have posted this some months ago.
But I wanted to see if the schedule has been updated.

I wanted to know the inbounds and outbounds every day for the Concorde at JFK. We hope to spot it this week. Thanks.

They're all AM except 12.20. BA flys daily except Saturday and I think AF doesn't fly on Tuesday or Saturday.

I just checked the timetables and can confirm Air France only flies Concorde to JFK on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday.

The retiming of the BA002 to it's original 08:30 am slot, is now planned to be on the 4th August.
A BA aircraft will position out on Saturday 3rd to allow this, however, these plans may yet be revised due to operational considerations.
During August, BA plan to substitute the JFK flight with a BGI on the Saturday.
More details to follow.

GDB, I take it this will mean the the BA001 Concorde will overnight at JFK before returning on the next day's BA002? Seems like an awful waste of an aircraft to have it sitting there for 20 hours each day !!

Any easy way to know when the BA takes off, is that it only departs on days that end with "y".  Big grin lol

Ok, thanks for your clarification. As I understand it,

AF arrives on M, W, Th, F and Sun @ 0845 EST

BA arrives everyday except saturdays @ 0925 EST
-------------------------------------

AF departs M, W, Th, F and Sun @ 0800 EST

BA departs everyday except SAT @ 1220 EST (til 8/4, when it will then lv @ 0830)

That's the most accurate description?? If so, thanks on the behalf of mirrodie and bigphilnyc.

PS..... " BA plan to substitute the JFK flight with a BGI on the Saturday "

WhAT is a BGI??

I'm sure I may be corrected - Under normal circumstances the morning BA001 arrival aircraft would not normally wait for 20 hours but depart early afternoon as the BA004 for an LHR arrival at around 22:15 GMT. The Inbound BA003 arriving at around 18:00 EST would then fly out the BA002 at 08:30 EST.

With the aircraft staying at JFK for 20hours overnight allows the serrvice to be re-timed to the correct BA002 times which has a noticable increase in passenger loads.

It also offers a much more robust service as any faults that develop on the inbound aircrtaft have time available to be corrected to save any cancellations. if the fault can't be corrected in the 20 hrs a quick turnaround of the BA001 means only a couple of hours delay.

To operate 2 services a day(BA1/2) it takes 2 aircraft, but for 4 services(BA1/2/3/4) only 3 aircraft are needed.

We are planning to hang oput Friday AM at JFK to catch 4 concorde movements b/w 8 and 10 AM.

They use ANY runway at JFK right? I remember in the 80's that they were not restricted to any runway. Does that still hold true?

Yeah, we need to find out about runways, and THEN we need to find a good position to spot from so we can watch them.

HELP US OUT!!!!

SafetyDude,

All the posts on this subject all either have am/pm or use the 24 hour clock (ie 8am is 0800 and 8pm is 2000). Air France overnight their Concordes at JFK, so the aircraft that arrives at 0845 leaves at 0800 the next day.

I'm actually guessing they will use 13R, which is 31L, but in the opposite direction.

For noise abatement, 13R takes them over less people.

Anyone knwo where we can spot for those runways?

Phil -

The Concorde most likely departs 31L, that's what they prefer. For a 31L departure, Cross Island Parkway, right next to the Cross Bay Bridge will provide great visual access.
