My brother heard him speak at the Presidential Library today, candy-ass questions from what I was told.....but what I want to know is if anybody might know how he got here...... |

Topic: RE: President Of China In College Station, Texas Username: JamesAg96 Posted 2002-10-24 21:36:11 and read 1816 times. Any idea? Fry.....Bueller?
Topic: RE: President Of China In College Station, Texas Username: JamesAg96 Posted 2002-10-24 21:39:02 and read 1803 times. That would be nice if they had, would really enjoy seeing some pictures of it...but there has been little mention of it here in the press. Totally unlike all of the hullabaloo that preceded Tony Blair....

Do not know what they used, but I was working at A&M when the library was dedicated. Air Force One did a trial landing to see how it would work. Awesome sight however they ended up at Ellington field. Also, they brought in 2 C-5A's. Never thought those planes would fit as well. Hopefully they did bring in a 744 though, I will see what I can find out. |

They just decided on going into Ellington for security reasons from what I heard. The C 5's were a site to see as well, especially on takeoff...Just FYI DC-10's used to fly in pretty regular during football season as charters. |
Topic: RE: President Of China In College Station, Texas Username: Ryu2 Posted 2002-10-24 22:24:27 and read 1774 times. So, George W Bush uses Ellington Field normally when he goes to his ranch, then? I'm guessing the President of China's plane will use whatever Air Force 1 uses.
Topic: RE: President Of China In College Station, Texas Username: Jtamu97 Posted 2002-10-24 22:30:25 and read 1769 times. Well I do not know which one they use for the ranch. Perhaps San Antonio or Austin somewhere..At the time, Clinton was President so I am thinking he did not want to land in College Station with all the Aggie Republicans
Topic: RE: President Of China In College Station, Texas Username: IAH_EWR Posted 2002-10-24 22:33:29 and read 1766 times. He flew into Ellington Field in Houston on a 744 I believe.
Topic: RE: President Of China In College Station, Texas Username: JamesAg96 Posted 2002-10-24 23:22:36 and read 1743 times. Thanks for the info guys.....I think when Bush heads to the ranch he uses Waco for his landing point.
Topic: RE: President Of China In College Station, Texas Username: Jhooper Posted 2002-10-25 00:11:16 and read 1732 times. Did the AF1 747 make a full stop or a touch and go?
Topic: RE: President Of China In College Station, Texas Username: Flyguy1 Posted 2002-10-25 04:18:03 and read 1693 times. Wonder if he is a longhorn fan?
Topic: RE: President Of China In College Station, Texas Username: Jtamu97 Posted 2002-10-25 04:23:51 and read 1689 times. AF 1 at CLL made a full stop. The tail was like a shark going down the runway as it was easy to see from West campus. I stood outside the library lots for my job and watched planes all the time. And James you are right, I forgot about TSTC.

Topic: RE: President Of China In College Station, Texas Username: Maiznblu_757 Posted 2002-10-26 02:14:48 and read 1571 times. I think that Bush used Lackland AFB when he goes to the Ranch. I saw him land there in June.
Topic: RE: President Of China In College Station, Texas Username: Clipper471 Posted 2002-10-26 07:05:59 and read 1528 times. Maiznblu_757, Lackland AFB is in San Antonio. If bush was going to his ranch, near Waco, then he wouldn't be flying into Lackland. Possibly Lackland was one of his campaign stops to raise millions from suckers.
Topic: RE: President Of China In College Station, Texas Username: Maiznblu_757 Posted 2002-10-26 09:41:24 and read 1516 times. In June, it said on the local news in SAT that he was going to his ranch... Thats all I know.
Topic: RE: President Of China In College Station, Texas Username: Clipper471 Posted 2002-10-26 13:46:33 and read 1509 times. Well, it's 190 miles from San Antonio to Crawford and 24 miles from Waco to Crawford. Maybe he left AF1 here and boarded another aircraft to go to Waco? Certainly he didn't take "Automobile Force One". Even Austin is closer... 120 miles from Crawford.
Topic: RE: President Of China In College Station, Texas Username: Maiznblu_757 Posted 2002-10-27 07:00:06 and read 1459 times. Yes, he was at Lackland in June, I saw him fly over as I was driving by. The next day the C17 departed. They had something about it on the San Antonio news.
Topic: RE: President Of China In College Station, Texas Username: Jhooper Posted 2002-10-27 07:56:28 and read 1447 times. He very well may have been in San Antonio for one reason or another, but I doubt he flew into there for the purpose of visiting his Crawford Ranch.
