A story in today's Newsday describes a "trip" taken to the North Pole on a US Airways A320. The trip consisted of taxing around the tarmac at LGA for about 20 sick children from a neighboring hospital.

The shades were drawn b/c the pilot had a "special" way of getting to the North Pole. (some of the smarter kids caught on that they never took off.)

Cute story and nice idea by US Air.

Perhaps next time they'll actually go somewhere  Wink/being sarcastic

I'd link you the story but the website, www.newsday.com, only printed the story.

I think Delta just taxis around the tarmac for while as well... but I think United used to do one in MIA or MCO one of the two that they flew a B777 around for a bit...
